Nic,

You need to enter the "service internal" hidden command in configuration mode:

10k#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line.  End with CNTL/Z.
10k(config)#service internal
10k(config)#exit

Then you can connect to the line card. For example, LC 3:

10k#if-con 3/0
Connecting console for slot 3/0
Type "^C^C^C" or "if-quit" to end this session


ct3-3/0> sho ?
invalid command
ct3-3/0> log dump
----- Start of console log -----

<output deleted>
----- end of console log -----
^C^C^C
Terminate if-console session? [confirm]

Anybody know how (or *if*) you can get a log dump from Cisco 10008 LC's? 
(I have tried attach, if-con, execute-on slot but all to no avail).
