Exactly.  Each individual prefix has a BGP best path selection, and 
then BGP is *done* with it, and inserts the "best path" into the global
routing table (RIB).

In the RIB - no matter where the prefix actually came from - static,
BGP, OSPF, ... - it's always "longest match wins".
