[c-nsp] Sub-Interface Support 122.25.SEC 3750

Hi David,

I guess this must depend on the platform....on a 3550 you can configure
sub-interfaces in switchport mode. I have already tried configuring the
3750 with 'no switchport' - but this proved unsuccessful as well. I
can only assume that the software guys have removed this feature from
the CLI in this version.

I am a little confused about your statement 'I seem to recall that
subinterfaces aren't allowed on "routed" ports' - if this is true - why
did you ask me to configure the port as 'no switchport' - this in effect
makes the port a routed port - and going with your statement this
wouldn't have worked anyway (although we know it does).

Regards

Alex

If the port was in "switchport" then you won't be able to configure
sub-interfaces. What happens when you do a "no switchport" first. The
default on the 6500 is "no switchport", while the default on everything
else
is "switchport".
