Either way is okay, as long as you configure your Cisco ports by default
to "allowed vlan none". The *Cisco* default of trying to negotiate a
trunk port and then having all VLANs allowed is absolutely awful in a
service provider environment.
But we have been bitten by forgetting the "add" statement too...
