Sounds like you have the similar setup as I do at work. Previous
admins used policy routing
to default all traffic to the correct port on the IPS/firewall,
depending on the incoming interface.
VRF is where we are headed to get away from messy policy routing. I
ran into the same problem searching at Cisco on VRF and getting bogged
down in MPLS land. Try a search at "VRF Lite"; that will bring up more
doc's without the MPLS emphasis.
