Oh yeah ... there are "non-trivial effects", as you so eloquently put it!
With so many IOS versions out there it's a near impossibility to keep track
of all of the errata that goes with each one.

I too am a JUNOS fan and the rollback capability has pulled me back from the
abyss on more than one occasion.
