Time and customers will show if this split was a good decision.

But the whole thing reminds me the DEC TOPS-10 / TOPS-20 / VAX war, the 
DEC "we are a hardware company" etc.

Hopefully Cisco has read this IT history chapter (alt.sys.pdp10) and will 
not repeat the same mistakes.
