How's this for a stupid question?

I'm working remotely on a pair of 6509's: CatOS 8.3(3) / IOS 12.1(8a)E3.

I can telnet to the devices and access the IOS CLI. 

The million-dollar question: how to I access the CatOS CLI?

As far as I can tell all the switch configs live in CatOS while the routing configs live in IOS, and I'm trying to gain access to the spanning-tree info (CatOS), to see if the switch is running PVST+, MST or what.
