Under "Version and Description" it says:

Note: If you are running Cisco CallManager 4.1(3)ES06 or higher, you must uninstall the Engineering Special (ES) before you can install this Service Release. (You may lose fixes that were added after ES06 and not included in the SR.)

and under "Important Notes, Recommendations" it says:

Make sure that you are using the correct version of Cisco CallManager software. Cisco supports upgrades from any Cisco CallManager 4.1(3) release up to 4.1(3)ES06. This SR is based on Engineering Special 06.

I read that in the docs about SR1 being based on ES06, however I did
not see anything about uninstalling anything higher. I was actually
confused about what I should do since I have ES09, and wondered if the
things that ES09 fixed for us are included in SR1 seeing how it is
  based off of es06 ?

The other question then becomes do you really have to uninstall es09
in order to install SR1 ? I was going to confirm that with TAC
  myself.

  Regards,
  Dane
