Subject: [cisco-voip] Unity UM Upgrade issues from 4.03 to 4.05
Hello all,
Last night we underwent the upgrade from Unity with Unified Messaging
from 4.03 to 4.05.
After this process we have come across a handful of accounts that are
now giving the following message:

Cannot mail directly to files>
We have received about a dozen accounts with this "Cannot mail
directly to files" error. These users can still receive e-mail
inbound and send e-mail. It is only when Unity attempts to deliver
the message.
By the way, the message never makes it to the users mail box, Unity
doesn't store a copy as if the mail store was offline, and the WMI
never activates. Essentially the voicemail is lost in the ether and
the user never knows.
The process of leaving a voicemail does go just fine, the system
accepts the voicemail, you can reivew, set urgent flags, etc. just
when delivering the message it fails.
We noticed the bounced message when a user on the system attempted to
leave another subscriber a voicemail and was returned the system
generated message.
Anyone have any ideas on what is going on here, we have kind of
stumped TAC, too.
Thanks in advance,
Dave
