[cisco-voip] Progress_ind command

Does anybody know if ANY progress_ind command is needed to make sure 
DTMF tones get thru the IP phone network to/from a PSTN destination?
I've been experimenting and find that the "dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric"
command breaks DTMF tones but the progess_ind commands have no effect.
>From what I've been able to find out, progress_ind command solve
"ringback" problems with the "alert" key word but not sure about "setup"
and "progress" key works.
