Hi Tim,

With regards to what a minicom is.....

Deaf people can make telephone calls using a minicom or textphone. They
type in what they want to say and the words appear on the screen of the
minicom at the other end. You can call a deaf person using an ordinary
phone as well by calling a service called *Typetalk.

Minicom might be a UK only name for this device other countries may call
it something different...

Just out of curiousity, what's a 'minicom'

I think you may be doing something I'm interested in too- using ATAs to
talk to another phoneswitch and have it appear as a CO trunk to the
other PBX...

Hi Dawn,

Are you connecting to the ATA's via PBX Master units ?

If you plug a standard analog phone into the ATA's are they working OK ?

Hello,

I have purchased 3 x ATA 186 adaptors to use with minicoms. The ata
adaptors have been picked up by the Cisco Call Manager (V3.3), but they
don't seem to be communicating with the minicoms. I believe I may need
to change some of the settings for the adaptors to be compatible with
the minicoms as they are configured to work with standard phones by
default(?). Does anyone know which settings have to be changed for the
adaptors to work with minicoms?

Many Thanks in advance.

Dawn Martin
