[cisco-voip] Re: IPCC question

Rich,

We currently have 4 CCMs all running 4.1.2, soon will upgrade to 4.1.3.
I would like to know how I can get the IPCC Express STANDARD licenses,
which you say are co-resident on the CCM?

And how would I go about writing and executing IPCC scripts on a CCM?
Do I need to install a service or application on the CCM?
If so, is this application included with the price of CCM?
Where would I find this installer; is it included with the original CCM
Disks?

Thank you,
Paul

Cisco is doing a great job of confusing everyone one with their naming
conventions, and they are going to change them again here soon.

But for now, there is IPCC Enterprise, which is the large end stand
alone IPCC system that is made to pull multiple call centers into one
large call center in the "cloud". Supposedly what Cisco uses for their
TAC.

Then there is IPCC Express, which is for small-med sized Call Centers
and comes in 3 flavors these days with v3.5x (Standard, Enhanced &
Premium). This one requires a Call Manager to work.

2) When you buy CM today, it now comes with 5 "free" IPCC Express
STANDARD licenses and is Co-Resident on the Call Manager. There is no
special deal to get this, it is standard now. You also get 15 Unity VM
licenses "bundled" in too, but you still need to purchase a server to
make these work.

3) IPCC can be run on the same server as Call Manager as long as you
don't have more than 10 agents/supervisors and there are some
restrictions with things such as historical report usage during the day.
(only 1 is allowed). If you start small and grow to beyond 10, then you
simply get a server and transfer the licenses to the server, so no lost
of investment.

We deploy a lot of IPCC Express and it has a lot of functionality that
can be programmed into it as it has a fairly flexible scripting
language... though I've use other call centers in the past and there are
still a few things missing that Cisco will add over the next 18
months...

David,
cisco has two products that carry the IPCC name and that have not much
more in common. (IPCC and IPCC express, aka CRS, or IP-IVR)

1) IPCC does not require CCM, but I guess you were talking about CRS,
which does. IPCC makes no sense on 5 seat call centers :)

2) No, CRS is a separate license. (Although some sales guy may make a
combo for you ? :)

3) Yes, although cisco does not support it, so to say. Only for
labs/demos, although a 5 seat CC should be fine AFAIK.
