[cisco-voip] More than 6 line appearances on 7960

Hi Candace,
There are a couple of things you can look at, depending on how the user is
going to work with the phone and lines. I would take a look at attendant
console, its a software app that comes with callmanager that may be what you
need.. it can display line states for many different lines and allows the
operator to transfer etc from that display (among other features). There are
some other 3rd party attendant console applications out there also, I don't
know them offhand though.
There is a 3rd party app that we are looking at called ANDGroup that may
also be something interesting for you, you can see the product at
www.ANDTek.com. It makes a display on the 7960 or 7970 screen that simulates
busy lamp fields and can have up to 15 appearances on it without adding the
7914. It might be worth looking at also if your users resist the attendant
console PC application.
We've not had any problems with 7914's, I'd say we probably have about 400
in use (all on the 7960 model phone). Other than they are a pain to program
and assemble. :)
If you find another solution I'd be happy to hear it, we dont really care
for using the 7914's either and are trying to explore other options for
future installations.
hope that helps...
