[cisco-voip] Configuring Cisco 2811 for voice

I was told that it is a EURO DCS, and we have an E1 card in the Cisco.
The R2 works for the controller card, as it brings up the E1 without
problems. In fact the far end can call to Mexico, but it hangs up after
8 seconds. The call completes!
However, outgoing calls seize the port, but sends no digits. I thought
maybe this was a interdigit timing issue and made some adjustments. But
again nothing worked.
Keep in mind that the Samsung rep in Mexico stated that they had to
'modify' this equipment to get it through Customs. I am still trying to
get the answer as to what they modified.
Thank you
Darel Graham

Darel,
Samsung DCS PBXes work pretty fine with Cisco voice gateways.
1. There are several types of this PBX --> DCS Compact / 2, iDCS, DCS
Euro.
I doubt your model is iDCS, because it is a NG-model with VoIP
capabilities
and LAN port for management (other have only RS-323 and SIM management
options).
The Compact models do not support R2, they support only ISDN PRA and
BRA. So,
I suppose your model is not Compact as well.
Check and report your exact model. See the card types you have (E&M, E1
R2,
PRI). If you have an ISDN card, you can configure it for ETSI or QSIG.
I am not aware of the T1 cards for Samsung DCS PBXes however. Are you
sure it
is really R2 MFC over E1 ?
