I am talking with the Telco now and of course they are saying they are sending me the name currently but my equipment is not receiving it correctly. That may very well be the case but from what I can see they are sending me the name. Does anyone else see the name being passed in these traces? Are there any other debugs I can try so I can see if I am receiving it the caller-id name? Thanks for everyone's help.
Good luck getting the Telco to change the delivery to Display IE. I tried a few weeks ago and they said they couldn't do it even if they wanted to. This was SBC in California by the way.

If the Telco does send it to me in the Display IE field then will it work with H.323?

If you're using H.323 and any flavor of Call Manager, then caller-ID name no worky. Cisco will tell you the same thing if you open a TAC case.
You must use MGCP to get caller-ID name to work. Don't be fooled by the fact the CME can handle caller-ID name just fine. The issue is CCM wants that information delivered to it in the Display IE field and almost all telco's send it in the Facility IE.

So in your q931 debug, I only see the number presented in the SETUP message.
I would check with the phone company to see whether or not they offer name delivery because it doesn't appear you have it today.

Incoming caller-id name should work be default on the CallManager, assuming you're using MGCP as your gateway protocol.
THe phone companies by default don't send it across PRI lines. You can have them turn it on. I believe you must be using an NI type PRI for this to work.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Caller-ID name
I have a customer with a PRI connecting to a 2851. We are getting the calling number phone number but they would like to know if they can get the name as well. I am not sure if the phone company is sending it to me or if I do not have something enabled either in the router or Call Manager. Can someone take a look at this debug ccapi inout and debug isdn q931 to see if the phone company is sending me the information or not. I am calling from number 417-888-4900 and I am calling 2605893584 on the inside. I would like the name of the person calling to show up on the IP phones as well as the number. Thanks a lot for your help.
