[cisco-voip] MWI with Alternate Extensions?

I have a 7960 that has a primary line and a secondary line (ext. 2641)
configured solely for IPCC.  I created a voice mail box in unity for ext.
2690.  I set an alternate extension on the mailbox with the secondary ext.
of the phone (2641).

The idea being a group mailbox if you will.  So user calls into IPCC presses
an option to go to a specific queue.  Once in the queue they can hang on the
phone for a agent, or press 0 to leave a voicemail for that queue.

Things seem to work the way I want but the MWI does not seem to show for the
alternate extension.

Am I barking up the wrong tree and trying to make it do something it is not
suppose to do, maybe I am confused about the way to utilize alternate
extensions?
