[cisco-voip] PSTN Question

In the USA I have a PRI that does allow me to send other caller id, but on a transfer it is the 2222 calling so that is the number that comes up and on Cingular the Caller id is not dynamic.

It should be possible, however it depends if your service provider (pstn and mobile) allow this.

I know for sure that in the netherlands this is not allowed.

In the netherlands it is not allowed to send out any other number on your E1 than that is registered to it.

So if 1111 calls 2222 and 2222 calls 3333 and transfers the call from 1111 to 3333, caller 3333 will see the number 2222, because he has a call from 2222, and because 1111 is not allowed to be sent out the E1 of 2222, they will keep seeing 2222 on the mobile.

I don't think cell phones change caller id like an IPT solution does...... we get so spoiled with the good stuff and expect the cell phones to keep up ;-0

Subject: [cisco-voip] PSTN Question

Hi Guys,

I have a question to a call behaviour. It is difficult to describe,
so I try to explain it with an example.

External Caller A: 1111
Reception Compay : 2222
Mobile phone : 3333

- caller A calls reception
- reception takes the call
- reception calls the mobile number
- reception transfer the call to the mobile number

So now caller A is connected with the mobile phone, but the
user with the mobile phone still see the calling number of the
reception and not the number of caller A.

Is this behaviuor normal ?
Can I change this behaviour, so that the user wich receives the
transfered call, can see the original calling number .

I don't know whether this is a stupid question or not, but it
would be nice if someone can give me a hint.

Regards,
Ahmad
