[cisco-voip] Customizing the directory menu on the 7970

I recently upgraded the firmware on our 7970 phones due to an issue with
DST. Upon doing so, the directory menu changed with the addition of
"intercom history". Rather than logically adding this feature (that we do
not use) to the end of menu it took the place of the corporate directory
and bumped it to the end to the dismay of our users. I thought the fix
would be a simple change to an XML file but I can't even find the file. I
contacted TAC and was told editing the XML is not supported. I am
frustrated by these phone "improvements" that pop up each and every time I
need to update firmware especially if the reason I am updating the firmware
is driven by troubleshooting issue.

Any suggestions on modifying the directory?
