[cisco-voip] tracing a call

This student is getting calls at 4am, midnight, 2am and they stay on the
line for about 20 seconds and then hang up. I want to put an ip phone
in her room and install the MCID. I know you can do this but I don't
remember how and then where do I find the report?

my thought is to send it to a AA and press a number for the receptionist
if not, it hangs up. The only problem is that the CIO's cell is unknown

translate calling 2

direct-inward-dial
Seems to work ok, bad thing is it blocks all unknown calls. Maybe you
could
do some more translations to force the number to some sort of recording
requesting that the caller call back from an unblocked number

regarding telemarketers, i've used the story that the number they've
called
triggered an emergency response that costs a few thousand dollars to
initiate and to be prepared to get a call from their local police and
that
if they don't remove this number right away that they will be charged on
all
subsequent calls if not already charged on this one.
it works.
