Well, this could be as per design. If you are not directory integrated, the only way to add contacts with CUPC is to use the PM app or the CUPS ccmuser pages. This is also possible if you are not correctly LDAP integrated. What LDAP are you using?

Hello Bill,
thank you for your help! My answers are beginning with -->
"Can you be more specific about what happens when you try to add a user to
a group? Do you get an error, does the menu option appear greyed out, or
does it seem to add the user but the user doesn't show up in the group?"
--> No i don´t get an error and the menu option is not greyed out. I can use the option in the menu, but nothing happens. The user does not appear under the group. But i am able to add users via the Phone Messenger Service on the IP Phone. When i enter users via the IP Phone, they appear in the CUPC.
"Are you able to create new groups?"
-> Yes, i am able to add new groups via Actions -> Add new Group (my CUPC is in german language i am just translating)
"Which minor release of 1.2 are you using? I believe, starting with 1.2.2, you can also drag contacts up to the lists."
-> We are running CUPC 1.2(2.11220) (german Version). Drag and drop of contacts is not possible. If i want to pull a contact under a group, a "prohibition sign" appears.
"Curious also to know if you close CUPC then log back in if the contacts
show up in the list."
-> All contacts, that i added via the IP Phone are persistent. After a restart of CUPC, they are still there.
Again, thank you for your help!
Best regards,
Gregor
