I just used COBRAS to go from 4.2 to 7.0 and it worked great and is now officially TAC supported

I would try to use the new tool for the Unity Upgrade. I think its called CORBA. You can jump versions with it 4 to 5 e.g. Instead of DiRT to back up 4 reinstall 4 and upgrade to 5.

Thanks,

Robert Knapp

Hi,

We will be upgrading from 4.x to 6.x in a few weeks. Are there any
things that I should be mindful of before the upgrade and during the
upgrade? And, can I use an MSI to push the IPCC 5.x Agent installs to
the PC? And, last question, can I use DIRT to send the backup of the
old Unity to a new Unity box, or can I just copy the MBX file and paste
it into the new Unity box?

Thanks for the insight.

For CUCM, run the DMA backup as soon as possible to weed out any errors now.
Nothing worse than waiting until the night of or before the upgrade to find
out you need TAC to help resolve some DMA backup errors.

The earlier you run it the better. That?s not to say you need to do a change
freeze (although it might be best). Just run the DMA back as a test to weed
out any obvious problems, then you can also run it again the night of the
upgrade to get the most recent data.

Jason,

You may have copied the wrong bug. This one has to do with a calledparty
field in a sccp message that is resolved in 5.0.1.

Can you check the bug ID and post back?

5x/6x

Do I understand this correctly, that CallManager 4x deployments with a DPA
can't upgrade to 5x/6x at this time? Is a hotfix available for 6x? Will
the DMA or upgrade assistant warn this upgrade will have issues?

DPA sends CalledPartyNumber instead of OriginalCalledPartyNumber to VM
Symptom:

Calls routed to voicemail via DPA will show up in Octel destined to the
wrong voicemailbox.
This can result in the caller being prompted to login or simply getting the
default greeting.

Conditions:
DPA voicemail integration with CM 4.2(1) or later (including CM 5.0).

Workaround:
None

Further Problem Description:
In previous versions of CallManager the SCCP CallInfo message sent to a
phone had the originalCalledParty and calledPartyNumbers with the same value
(that of the originalCalledParty number). This was done to be backwards
compatible with old voicemail products such as UOne. Since this message is
only used to present display information to the SCCP device it did not
impact the routing of calls.

CSCsb57445 was filed to fix this issue and get the calledPartyNumber to
display the correct value. This fix had the side-effect of causing the wrong
number to be sent by the DPA as the called party number.
