[cisco-voip] URI Softkey:Exit Fails on model 79X1 Phones

Wes,

Thanks for the reply.

I have investigated the XML Object "Key: Services". It's basically a
function to open "Services" menu on the IP Phone.

It worked fine to clear data onto IP Phone 7970; but the problem is that
if there is no data on the screen and we push this object, than it opens
"Services Menu".

During a call, if user presses "Exit" button to clear data and at the
end of call, if we try to clear the data as well, it will open "Services
Menu" and it's the same problem as we were having with "Key:Soft3".

So this object did not help us to sort the problem.

I looked at the bug ID but it doesn't say anything.

I opened a TAC case but the TAC engineer politely informed me that TAC
cannot deal with these types of problems and referred me to the
Developers Web Site.

Regards,

Keith.

Keith,

Init:Services should accomplish the same and is universally supported.
For Softkey:Exit please do open a TAC case. CSCee43064 was filed for
this issue and previously closed because "Exit was not part of the
original and standard SDK but rather an extension on the 7940/60 model
phones". That said, newest SDK indicates Exit is valid:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/all_models/xsi/7_0/
english/programming/guide/xsi70uri.html#wp1053237

We just need a TAC case to perform official tracking.

We are using Cisco IP Phone objects to display information on the phone.
In order to clear the information, we call Softkey URI "Softkey:Exit"
and it clears the information on 7940 and 7960. However, the same URI is
not working on 7941, 7961 and 7970.

The "Cisco Unified IP Phone Services Application Development Notes,
Release 6.0(1)" at

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/all_models/xsi/6_0/
english/programming/guide/xsi60uri.html#wp1033136

states all the phone models are supported.

The returned error is "URI not found" with "Status=6".

Following is the code snippet we are using.

XML Request  to CUCM:

<CiscoIPPhoneExecute>

                          <ExecuteItem URL="SoftKey:Exit"/>

</CiscoIPPhoneExecute>

Response from CUCM:

  <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1" ?>

- <CiscoIPPhoneResponse>

                          <ResponseItem URL="SoftKey:Exit" Data="URI not
found" Status="6" />

      </CiscoIPPhoneResponse>

We have tried different firmware releases including the latest. Anyone
come across this problem and knows of a solution?

Regards

Keith
