The blackbox thing is nice. Makes it a lot easier to do the punchdowns.

FYI: The EM-HDA-6FXO requires the EVM-HD-8FXS/DID card to be installed.

The amphenol connector also requires the correct punchdowns. Because the HD card itself can have different modules, the punchdowns are different depending on what you install. The Cisco site refers to a Blackbox part number that takes care of this for you.

This link also says that the 2921 supports 28 FXO ports, so you should be good to go. I like to see the max number in print because I found out that just because you can fit X number of ports physically into the router, doesn't mean it will support all of them.

For 23 Analog Line:
1)- 24 DSP channels
2)- Does 2921 support analog voice termination to this capacity? 2921 has 4xEHWIC slots and looking at the datasheet it seem to be compatible with previous generation card. So there can be a total of 16 FXOs ( 4 x VIC2-4FXO) + EM-HDA-6FXO, so total of: 16 + 6 = 22 ports.

refer these for further details:

So this just got tossed in my lap, and I'm still digging for information.

We have a site that basically had they're legacy phone system die (It's not totally dead, but it ain't happy). The plan is to do an SRST with a new 2921 router and add them to our main site.

The problem is coming down to the interface to the PSTN. We were originally told that the site has a T1. Further investigation has revealed the site infact has analog lines, it's unknown if they are Groundstart/loopstart/POTS, etc.

Question:

Is it possible to get 23 analog lines into a single 2921 router? If so, what combination of cards/*WICS would make this happen.
We're looking to get the site converted to a T1, but we're not sure what the time line on that happening is.

Mike
