Ian,
You'd probably see a benefit from using SCCP to control this FXS
port, this should work with CUCM or CME. I do not know if this is
supported on a 3640 but based on your IOS version, I am assuming you
should be able to use the feature, since you are on 12.4 mainline and
it was introduced in 12.3T.
This would allow you use of some of CCM's supplementary services for
the FXS-connected devices.
