[cisco-voip] MOH File Distortion

Here are my steps from doing this before:

When using CoolEdit to save this file out as an 8 bit 8khz ulaw file
it sounded AWFUL.

CoolEdit was able to send it out as 16 bit 8khz PCM that sounded just fine.

Once the 16 bit 8khz file was put through CallManager's
AudioTranslator we could still
hear the music and the hissing problem was gone.

I'd recommend all MoH quality problems follow a similar path in the future:

1. Use CoolEdit or some other professional software to fix the audio
amplitude and sample
rate (moving from 48kHz to 8kHz for example).

2. Instead of following the steps of saving this file out as the
individual 8 bit ulaw
just save the file out as a 16 bit PCM WAV file.

3. Listen to the file to confirm audio quality is still good.

4. Upload this file to audio translator.

If you want an old version of something, I recommend oldversion.com

http://www.oldversion.com/Cool-Edit-Pro.html

Hopefully this helps. Once you save the file out as 16 bit 8khz from
cooledit listen to it and make sure it sounds good. THEN put it
through MoHAudioTranslator in CallManager.
