[cisco-voip] IPCC and Call Manager Upgrades

Mike:

We did an upgrade to Unity 7. We initially attempted an upgrade of all components, but that blew up. So we went with one component at the time, first from Unity Connection 1.2 to Unity 7.

As a note of experience, when creating the DMA or migration, it needs to be clean. If TAC says to change the Server configuration from IP to hostname in CCM, don't do it. At least it caused huge issues for us.

Subject: [cisco-voip] IPCC and Call Manager Upgrades

  Hi All,

  Somewhat general question.

We are running CM 4.2SR3 and IPCCX 4.0(5). We want to get both upgraded to 7, but it sounds like a tremendous task. Anyone have any experiences with this type of upgrade or suggestions on which path to take? We are going to go with new hardware. I am wondering if there is some way to stage this kind of upgrade.

  Thanks.
