[cisco-voip] Slow to connect calls

Jeff,

the H323 gateways show up as unkown in CUCM because H.323 is a peer to peer
protocol. basically H.323 doesn't need the call manager to function
properly, what you do on the Gateway is you need create a Voip dial-peer
pointing to your subsciber and a 2nd dial-peer with a higher preference
pointing to your publisher (for redundancy) . on CUCM you configure the
gateway as an h.323 device and the CUCM and H.323 gw will communicate with
eachother without any problems . however on the H.323 GW you need to
configure the dial-plan, you need to configure dial-peers for outgoing calls
to match your dial plan in CUCM and a few dial-peers for incoming calls..

if you want to know if those gateways are in use with H.323 check the
dial-peers on the router and also check the route list to double check if
you have your gateway in a route group.
