[cisco-voip] Firmware Upgrade in Preparation for Upgrade from CCM 4.1(3)sr8 to CUCM 7.X ???

I don't think it's necessary to upgrade your phones' firmware before the upgrade since they're supposed to automatically download the new firmware after your upgrade to 7.x.


We are currently 
running CCM 4.1(3)sr8 and will upgrade to CUCM 7.X in 4 weeks.  Our current 
firmware which was unexpectedly included in the SR8 upgrade is 
SCCP41.8-4-1SR2S.  Should we be further upgrading the firmware in 
preparation for our BIG upgrade next month?  We have 7961, 7912 and 7936 
phones.
 
I see the latest 
firmware is ciscocm.4-1-DevPack-89.exe, but 
I don't know if that's compatible with 4.1(3) or if it's just for CUCM 
7.X.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank 
you!
