g.729 is a speech codec and is not designed for music... for the best
results, use g.711 for MOH, or change your MOH script to just speech.

Subject: [cisco-voip] MoH trouble over WAN

Hi,

I have a situation with Music on Hold on a CallManager 3.3(3)sr3.

1) Users call from PSTN to a phone on branch office say DN 2000. Phone
2000 puts PSTN user on hold and PSTN user hears music.

2) Users call from branch office to branch office using same
location/device pool/region say DN 2001 to DN 2000. Phone 2000 puts 2001
on hold and 2001 hears music.

3) Users call from HQ office DN 1000 to branch office DN 2000 over WAN.
Phone 2000 puts 1000 on hold and 1000 hears just three tones.

Music on Hold is set to G.729 under Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming App
Service Parameters.
Music on Hold server Region uses G.729 to talk to branch office.

I want HQ users should be able to hear music as well. So what it's
wrong?

Thanks
