If you are using CUBE in front of your UCM, or directly to CME, I would recommend Viatalk 'BYOD' ('d' for 'device'). They are relatively inexpensive (2 years of service for $189 and 2 ports). I don't believe you can terminate the sip trunk directly to UCM though. I tried years ago with 5.x and could only get calls one way. The SIP realm authentication would only work one direction, maybe it has been fixed in later UCM versions. I never went back to try again.

The below post made me remember --
Is there anything like a rating site for ITSP carriers?
I'm interested in obtaining a SIP trunk for my home use, and don't know
anything
about which carriers are out there, which are stable (as in not being a
startup this week and a corpse next week),
and which ones provide Caribbean low rates.
Website research tends to get a lot of BS from marketing sites, so I
figured
I'd ask in a place where actual engineers have real knowledge instead of
marketing-speak.
anyone got any ITSP they'd recommend or a site that does quality reviews
of ITSPs?

Subject: [cisco-voip] SIP Trunking with UCM 5.x - 7.x
In an effort to help customers migrate away from PRI and move towards
SIP Trunking with an ITSP I'm trying to notate any major differences in
SIP Trunking operation between UCM 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x. My intentions are
to use CUBE between UCM and the ITSP and I would like to support all 3
major versions if possible. The Cisco ISR running CUBE will act as a
b2bua and handle SIP registration and header manipulation (if
necessary). Can anyone comment on any major feature differences among
the 3 major versions of UCM as it relates to SIP trunking?
Regards,
Mark
