The plantronics headsets have quick release connectors, so users can quickly patch in and out with their own headset. Just like in "Pushing Tin" ;)

I agree that phone rests aren't ergonomic, but I'm curious what people do for shared phones where the users insist on a shoulder rest, but a headphone would not make sense due to a constant flow in and out of different users. In my case the situation would be a hospital nursing station with various nurses using the same phones.

Shoulder rests in general are a bad idea [ergonomically]. Buy cheap wired headsets instead!

we have decided, under direction from our health and safety department to not provide shoulder rests.

Hello All,
Kind of an off topic question, but does anyone know of a good shoulder rests that works for the Cisco IP phones without covering up the MWI light? The ones we are using now completely block the MWI light and some of our users really don’t like this.. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
