[cisco-voip] UCCx server JTAPI Upgrade tool doesn't run

Hi Tanner,

I did a CM upgrade awhile back and now have a problem with the Attendant
Console where calls are not clearing out of the Call Control list. (I
posted to the list about that too.) It was looking into the AC problem
where I learned that the new CM version would have a new JTAPI version,
and that JTAPI should be consistent on CM and UCCx. I was hoping that
might solve the AC problem. Turns out that I had run the JTAPI resync
days ago; I did it just to see if there were any oddities after the CM
upgrade. Thanks to you and Voice Noob, I now know that I had already
upgraded JTAPI on the UCCx server. And in any case, I'm still having
the AC problem. I have a TAC case open, but they're not moving very
fast.

I know, no one cares about AC anymore, but it's all I have and all I
will have anytime soon. I hope I can get it solved.

Thanks
jeff

That is only necessary on non Cisco OS installations.

Jeff,

Is there a specific reason you need the JTAPI version? The document you
referenced is old and out of date and I don't believe it applies to the
newer versions of UCCX. If the JTAPI Resync showed the versions are
consistent, then you are in good shape.

	Try that.

Nope, hardware server and yes Cisco branded Windows 2003.

The JTAPI resync and Data resync check both report: Cisco JTAPI
Client
Node ID: 1 -- Cisco JTAPI Client versions are consistent

So I guess that means I'm OK.

I found a Cisco doc called Manually Check the JTAPI Version on
the CRS Server, and that gave me instructions like:

	* On the CRS server, launch a DOS window.

	* Change the directory to C:\WINNT\java\lib.

	*  Type jview /cp jtapi.jar CiscoJtapiVersion.

	*  Press Enter.

but that didn't work for me either.

Are you running UCCX in VMware? Are you using the Cisco OS for
2003?

I'm also rooting around to see where I can verify the versions
on both my CM servers and UCCx. May I solicit your help on that?

	Thanks Tanner!

You can do that, also the JTAPI Resync should do it as well.

	Greetings,

	According to this document:

	Document ID: 45381 here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/custcosw/ps1846/products_tech_not
e09186a00801c8316.shtml

I run the update tool to install a new JTAPI version on my UCCx
server running version 5.0.

But when I run the tool, no application opens. What now?

I don't suppose I can download the CiscoJTAPIClient.exe out of
Call Manager Plugins and just run that on the UCCx server, can I?

	Thanks

	jeff
