Hi Kim,

When resetting an ATA I've always used the following sequence -

* Power up the ATA

* Make sure the ATA is *NOT* plugged into the network.

* Plug an analogue phone into voice port one.

* Lift the handset, and press the button on top of the ATA

* You will be greeted by the American female darlek.

* Dial 322873738#*

So, three things to note - first that ATA should not be plugged into the LAN, second the code should have a * pressed after the #, and third the analogue phone should be plugged into Port 1 of the ATA.

I hope this helps

I’m trying to reset a Cisco ATA 186 back to the factory default with the following prompts but unable to get device to reset. Any ideas? Thanks!

Resetting the Cisco ATA to Factory Default Values
It is possible that you may, under some circumstances, want to reset the Cisco ATA to its factory default values. For example, this is the only way to recover a forgotten password without contacting your Cisco representative.
To perform a factory reset, you must use the voice configuration menu and follow these steps:
Procedure

Step 1 Press the function button on the Cisco ATA.
Step 2 Press the digits 322873738 (FACTRESET) then press # on your telephone keypad.
Step 3 Press 3 on your telephone keypad to confirm that you want to reset the Cisco ATA, then hang up the phone
