[cisco-voip] Connecting a CME to Analog Lines

Brilliant. I have several of those ready. Specifically the VIC2-4FXO cards.

Now, I'm curious.... With this setup... Would I create a hunt group on the router to bundle these lines together for outbound calling? I've only dealt with PRI lines and not analog lines.

So I would create a trunk group "POTS". Then apply this trunk group to each voice-port and also include the connection plar command. Then on the dial-peers, I would include the trunk group there as well?

Thanks for the response.

if you want to connect the POTS lines to the CME you need an FXO card

I have a small office here that utilizes regular analog lines. There is no current analog PBX in place and the installation of the CME is for future expansion & the eventual move to a PRI. As it stands right now, this office is buying regular lines and has a physical phone connected to each line (just as a normal house phone).

I know that in other configurations, there are hunt groups & what not, but I'm wondering what kind of interface card I need on the router. I have a handful of 4-port FXS & FXO cards available to put in this router.

Thanks in advance.
