I ran into the same issue and TAC sent me a new module. The new one
came up with no issues.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Installing Cisco Unity Express on SRE-700...

So, anyone done this yet?

So, from the device, I try to install CUE 8.0.2:

service-module sm 1/0 install url
ftp://cisco:cisco123@10.50.2.108/cue-vm-k9.sme.8.0.2.pkg

Proceed with installation? [no]: y

*Aug 24 22:04:38.547: %SM_INSTALL-6-INST_RSRC_GET: Getting resource
information from SM1/0.

Then, after a minute or two:

*Aug 24 22:03:41.639: %SM_INSTALL-3-INST_NORESP: SM1/0 SW installation
failed module not responding

On the service module (telnet to device, session to SRE-700), all I see
is:

Initializing memory. Please wait...

Initializing memory. Please wait...

It makes no attempt to FTP the file....

During the attempt the status says:

ROUTER# service-module sm 1/0 status

Service Module is Cisco SM1/0

Service Module supports session via TTY line 67

Service Module is trying to recover from error

Service Module heartbeat-reset is enabled

Service Module is in fail open

Service Module status is not available

Install of ftp://*****:*****@10.50.2.108/cue-vm-k9.sme.8.0.2.pkg in
progress

Install status : Install started

After it fails, I get:

ROUTER#service-module sm 1/0 status

Service Module is Cisco SM1/0

Service Module supports session via TTY line 67

Service Module is trying to recover from error

Service Module heartbeat-reset is enabled

Service Module is in fail open

Service Module status is not available

No install/uninstall in progress

This module is brand new... in a Cisco 2911 running 15.1(2T)

Any ideas?

Jonathan
