[cisco-voip] ATA problem in CUCM 7.1(3) !!!

hi to all..

 

it seems that after cluster upgrade form 4.2(3) to 7.1(3) ATA 186 want
upgrade it's firmware from 3.2.3 sccp to 3.24 sccp which is the default one
in CUCM 7.1(3)..

ATA also want register to primarly confgiured CUCM ( and it keeps it's last
known config )..so, it is rather non-usable..

ATA isn't newly added, it was already configured in 4.2(3) CUCM, so it
exists in DB..so, there is no auto-reg problem..

 

so, after reading some of the threads and bugs description for CSCsd44357
and CSCsr45184 i did manage to "cut" some neccessary info in xml file (
ataMACADDRESS.cnf.xml ) and manage to make ATA pickup that config and load
new firmware ( 3.2.4 ) using TFTP server on y PC..

i think ryann wrote something about it..

 

but, for cluster with 200 ATA devices it is going to be real problem..

 

so, if we're hitting that 4k bug, or maybe some other bug..

 

is there any "nicer" solutions for this huge problem..

 

we can upgrade firmware on existing CUCM 4.2(3) and moved them after that to
7.1(3) with the same firmware, but isn't that the same thing, if there is a
bug in ATA's 3.2.3 code..

 

this makes sense only if we're having in mind that ATA speicific config file
and XMLdefault.cnf.xml are smaller size in CUCM 4.x , beacuse CUCM 7.X does
add some newer feature and info overhead..
