[cisco-voip] VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1

Read what Jim said a little more closely, then look at what you are
specifically trying to accomplish.

You will have to read the clock off the PSTN, not much you can do about
that.

But do you want the Nortel to read off you as it's master clock, or do
you want to read off the Nortel's clock?

If you want Nortel to read off you, it shouldn't be a problem since
everything will then be on the same clock (PSTN -> Cisco -> Nortel) but
if you want the Cisco to get it's clock from both the PSTN and the
Nortel (PSTN -> Cisco <- Nortel) then it sounds like you'll need a
second card (if what they're stating is true that the card is only
capable of dealing with one timekeeper).

We had a similar setup (PSTN -> Cisco <- NEC) and changed it to (PSTN ->
Cisco -> NEC) with just a couple of commands and dip switches on the
NEC.

Hope that helps to clarify.

So Jim says there is no problem but Jason says there is. Anyone know
which it is?

yes the card has a single PLL, you should use 2 seperate cards. I think
another problem is the DSPs on backplane can't split clocking as well.

I wonder if their is a fix for this with G2s, etc.

Is there still an issue where I can not have two different clocking
sources from two different providers on the same two port card? One of
the ports is used as a PRI connection to a Nortel box where I am acting
as the TELCO. I want to use the other port as a local PRI to the PSTN.
Should I split this on two different cards?
