[cisco-voip] Unity 8x Call Handler > Opening Greeting > Allow callers to dial an extension during greeting

Jason,

Go to your call handler, find the greeting that is being played. In the middle of the page under the "During Greeting" section, there is a checkbox called "Allow Transfers to Numbers Not Associated with Users or Call Handlers". Do you have that box checked? If not, check it and let us know if it works. I think they added that in 7.x. I remember the old days where you had to create call handlers for each non-subscriber if you wanted to be able to dial those extensions from a greeting. Not anymore!

Thanks,
Kevin

Subject: [cisco-voip] Unity 8x Call Handler > Opening Greeting > Allow callers to dial an extension during greeting

Our Unity subscribers all have a 10-digit extensions (eg 904-555-4444)

In CallManager the phones have a 10-digit DN (eg 904-555-4444), with a Translation Pattern that allows 1XXXX to expand to 904-555-XXXX. You can dial 5 digits from phone to phone and it expands to 10 digits.

In a the Opening Greeting Call Handler is there a way to allow callers inputting 1XXXX to transfer to CallManager to do the expansion work and ring a phone? Since 1XXXX doesn't match a subscriber you just get an error message today.
