We've some ASP which displays a big clock you can use for idle url / services button.
It doesn't show seconds but is still pretty cool :)
Happy to send it directly across if you want

Time on the 3rd & 4th phone time can drift by up to 10 seconds from NTP or CM time. It turns our setting the time on phones is expensive processor wise so do it only when necessary.
I know of no way to get seconds to display on the phone. Given the up to 10 second drift I don't know how much you'd want to reveal the internal clock of the phones.
IPPhoneServicesSDK used to include a time clock web service that could be used as idle URL on the phones. That displayed time from server with a 1 second refresh interval. That might work so long as your webserver and network can handle the traffic.
Since you're on 3rd gen phones that support java midlets this might be a good opportunity to begin exploring midlets to see what they can do.

Wes

I haven't seen anything. Wonder how much drift it would have showing on phone..
Run NTP on router and point Wall clock to your NTP. What most schools do.

Here's an odd ball request.
We have a department that requires precise time. The do not have full blown computers, nor do they have internet access on the terminals they use.
They used to dial the time service in our area (1 617 637 8687), but it appears to be discontinued. (Worked last week, but not now)
Is there any way to get the 7900 series (Mostly 7945's) to display the seconds on the phone? An application?
Mike
