[cisco-voip] MGCP FXS port for Fax Line

We use MGCP - FXS ports for fax at our location. We configure our gateway with disabled Cisco and T38 fax relay and enable modem passthrough. The port direction is programmed for "bothway". The fax machine itself could be the problem. Ensure it is set for 2 rings and ensure distinct ring setting is turned off. Turn off or disable ECM and you may want to slow down the transmission speed to 9600 bps.

Customer added new DNIS for DR site, TNT is in production receiving 30,000 calls a day. After adding 30 new DNIS, the telco says that the *8 is not being received. Can see the *8 in the VG but telco only received 8 plus an 11 digit number. Any quick tips on how to get the * from being dropped?

With 8.5.2, our 7970 phones set for max brightness on a switch capable of providing 15.4 watts are full brightness.

Installing anything in the 9.0 train makes them fully dim! To get max brightness the user actually has to "back off" one step on the phone brightness menu. That's not going to work over 1000's of phones.
Putting 8.5.2 back on them makes them fully bright again.

Hello All,
I have a CUCM 8.5 cluster and Avaya PBX integrated with Q.Sig T1s. I have a Unity Connection 8.5 VM cluster that will initially have all users from Avaya migrate their voicemail boxes to it prior to going to cisco IP Phones due to their old Intuity is failing. Do I need dual switch integration or can I send MWI from Connection through CUCM to the Avaya PBX phones via the existing QSIG integration between CUCM and Avaya. I'm trying to minimize any dual switch complexity and splitting VM ports between dual switch integrations.

Thanks a lot,
Steve

Dear Gents,

I have a question regarding contact center, let's start with the existing scenario:

There is a simple contact center script with multiple menu options for the caller to choose one of them let's say, 1 ?new subscription, 2 ? complains, ....etc. suppose the following happens, a caller who need new subscription chose option number 2 (complains) and directed to a complains agent and this agent addressed this caller needs.

The problem is this call will be recorded in the CCX reports as option 2 (complains) call although it was actually a new registration (option 1) which will be misleading in the CCX reports.

So briefly the customer needs something to be configured to facilitate the agents to indicate that the previous call was belonging to another submenu (option) after he finished talking with the caller in order to give accurate statistics in the CCX reports

So please could you tell me how this can be implemented.

Best Regards

Ahmed -

Look into the "wrap code" feature within UCCX. Instead of classifying and reporting on calls based on IVR selections agents can classify a call after it has occurred for reporting purposes.

Problem description:
During a TNT call *8 is presented followed by 11 digits and # Telco is saying, "everythings fine... on their end" we all heard that before... and They are seeing 8 and not the *, which doesn't allow for TNT, need both.
Included logs from troubleshooting and sh runs. I have been working with aussie tac folks as troubleshooting occurs during afterhours. We haven't had much success. If anyone has a suggestion, please share.
. No outgoing dial-peer is required

No CUCM involved

Successful call
the TNT for the call outpulses to *8,,,,,,,,,,,,,,1XXXXXXXXXX#. This fails - the caller experience is to hear a beep, followed by more beeps (as if someone were pressing buttons on a phone, but I think the call cannot exit the gateway and the pulse tones are played on the phone like AAR routing), see cause code 16, no circuit

Failed Call
the TNT for the call outpulses to *8,,,,,,,,,,,,,,1XXXXXXXXXX#. This works - the call gets to the other site and goes into CVP from that other gateway.

callflow if: pstn-->ingress gw-->gk-->cvp--ICM; ICM initiates TNT; back through CVP to ingress gw to PSTN to remote site.

The label is *8,,,,,,,,,,,,,,1xxxxxxxxxx#

I tried using an outbound dial-peer with *8XXXXXX, etc with forward all, no luck DNIS in CVP, wav's too.

The telco says that they don't see the *, so they are receiving 81XXXXXXXXXX# The weird thing about this is that all the production calls use the same label format as these calls I'm having a problem with.
The TNT numbers are functional and calls can be placed on them to the DR site, just not from ingress gateway.

Thanks for reading this.
