[cisco-voip] Strange Problem with Cisco Phone power

Hi,

the phone loses connection and then resets itself, it does not switchover as in an outage!

You can check your switch config for "energywise" , but from the log file it looks like the bug ->

1w0d: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface FastEthernet0/18, changed state to down
1w0d: %SWITCH_QOS_TB-5-TRUST_DEVICE_LOST: cisco-phone no longer detected on port Fa0/18, port set to untrusted.
1w0d: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface FastEthernet0/18, changed state to up
1w0d: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface FastEthernet0/18, changed state to up
1w0d: %SWITCH_QOS_TB-5-TRUST_DEVICE_DETECTED: cisco-phone detected on port Fa0/18

The phone is coming back after the pc is unplugged or shutdown?

Brgds
Erich

Hi,

maybe you're hitting this bug : http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCtn08126
it's fixed in 9.2(1)

or do you want to use energywise to power down the phones when you unplug/shutdown your computer ?
