[cisco-voip] Voip Voice Recording software

I've actually been using Calabrio for a couple of years now. Compared to
the other products I've used, it's not too bad. There were a couple of
issues setting it up, but they all ended up being an issue on the Cisco side
with BIB, etc. Once the product is installed and working, it's fairly hands
off. I haven't intimately used other products, but from what I can tell
Calabrio will offer most options that the others do.

As far as the problem with sometimes Call Manager doesn't send the audio
stream, we had an issue like this as well. Ended up working a TAC case for
a couple of months. If it's the same problem that we had, it's actually the
CUCM software version. We had to wait for an engineering special to be
built for us. Once they gave us this, worked like a charm.

BugID: CSCtl09610

Looks like your version of CUCM might be "bugged." Could consider updating?

What Firmware on what model of Phone..... I believe we had some kind of
issue like this, and it' was the firmware on the phone.

back to the thread... we are currently using Call Rex. Pretty nice
recording package. API's could be documented better, but support has helped
us with that.

Calabrio (or should I say the OEM for Cisco) will not work with you if your
a cisco UCCx shop. you have to buy Cisco. Then you have to use TAC and TAC
calls Calabrio.  What  a Joke.

Also looked at the open source stuff that Lelio mentioned. if you need
Cheap, I think it would work in a Pinch. Here they like Support so it was
not an option.

We are trying to set up a Nice Perform Call Recording environment and are
running into problems. We have our system and all of our users set up as
Nick describes and everything seems to works, then out of the blue the Call
Manager seems to stop sending RTP from the BIB for various telephones. The
fix is to unassociate and re-associate the users telephone to the NiceCTI
application user. We have a TAC and a NICE case open but so far have not
been able to resolve. Has anyone else that has deployed Nice Perform ran
into this? Running CUCM 7.1.5.11900-6 7 and Nice Perform 3.2

Thanks

Steve

Forgot user steps;

- Grant recording LDAP user (or appuser if no LDAP bind) CTI
permissions - enabled, allow call recording, monitor etc

- Associate devices/DN to be recorded with the above user

That's pretty high level on how you set it up with CUCM - good luck!

Cheers,

Nick

Active recording is what you're referring to as 'dual media forking' from
the handset - Built in Bridge in CUCM lingo.

We use NICE active recording across 5 CUCM clusters works great - plus no
need to SPAN the network!

Pretty seamless to provision on the CUCM side;

- Setup recording profile for handsets, defined DP

- Setup SIP Trunk(s) - or CUBE to demarc

- Destination pattern to Recording RG/RL for profile to invoke

- Set handsets to BiB ON and DN recording option/profile to app invoked
(for active)

See this for more detail;

s/CMmonrec.html

Refer to the Monitoring and Recording section of Feature & Services guides
for your CUCM version on how to configure - we use 6.1x flavours;

Matt, could you share your experience and let us know why you wouldn't
recommend Verint?

I have a major deployment coming up using their latest recording product
with 'dual media forking' from the handsets!

Kinda worried now! :)

Verint, but would not recommend it.

I've used the Telrex product in the past but at the time (5years ago) it was
a pain to configure.
