[cisco-voip] Detailed Question about MRGL and MOH

When calling between clusters each cluster does not see the call as being between two IP phones any longer. Each cluster will see this call as being between a phone and a trunk (ICT, SIP, GK-controlled, etc). When A puts B on hold, it's not really phone B that's getting put on hold but rather the trunk that the call routed out to cluster B via.

The rule still applies, except the MRGL that is used will be that of the trunk, not phone B.

Detailed Question about MRGL and MOH

Based on Cisco Website,

if phones A and B are on a call and phone B (holder) places phone A (holdee) on hold,

phone A will hear the MoH audio source configured for phone B (Audio-source2). However, phone A

will receive this MoH audio stream from the MRGL (resource or server) configured for phone A

(MRGL A).

So, It does not work for Ca;;s between two Clusters or even when the Audio File is different. I tested it and it does not work. Please find the Senario in below:

Now Imagine:

Two different Cluster. Cluster A and Cluster B.

Phone A in cluster A has MOH file A.wav and MOH server is set to A, MRGL is A.

Phone B in cluster B has MOH file B.wav and MOH server is set to B, MRGL is B.

A calls B, and A(Holder) puts B (Holdee) on hold. in this Case B listen to A.wav( which is correct) but MRGL will be MRGL A.(Not MRGL B, as the music on hold and server are totally different) .

Or same cluster but :

Phone A in cluster A has MOH file A.wav and MOH server is set to A, MRGL is A.

Phone B in cluster A has MOH file B.wav and MOH server is set to B, MRGL is B.

Same happens.

Please someone help me figure it out!!!??
