[cisco-voip] Query, how is dscp being set to ef on packets from AS5400

We have an AS5400 that is taking several trunk line phone lines from the 
phone company and turning them voip streams which are being sent to an 
asterisk box. in checking the packets as they come into the asterisk box, 
the TOS field already has the DSCP value set to "ef". Handy, but this is 
apparently happening from the AS5400, and nothing has been set up on the 
5400 to do this. Does the codec on the 5400 or something else do this 
automatically?
