[cisco-voip] Silent uninstall of CAD Service Release

Tested and this method works fine. Just grab the MSI from the temp folder
and send msiexec the uninstall commands. Still does a force reboot, but at
least I don't have to physically go to 300 different machines.

Thanks for the info. I didn't see any uninstall info for Cisco in that area
of the registry.

I ended up removing the CAD Service release manually. Then deleted all my
temp folders and watched them while I opened Agent and it downloaded the CAD
Service release client. It is actually an MSI. I just grabbed the MSI and
now I can pass it the silent uninstall info. Haven't 100% tested but should
work fine.

If you look in the Windows registry of a machine with CAD installed you can
typically find the uninstallation command. The registry path for us with
CAD 66.1.54 is
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{007C
5E6D-3037-4C00-A5FD-561F239169C4}. For us, there is a string object called
UninstallString with a value of MsiExec.exe
/X{007C5E6D-3037-4C00-A5FD-561F239169C4}. So you should be able to fire
that MsiExec command with the /quiet parameter and silently uninstall the
software. I'm assuming that the uninstall will require a reboot because of
the associated driver(s) removal so you'll want to plan for that too.

This is all theory-I've not tested this but plan to in the near future. If
you beat me to it I'd very interested in hearing how it went for you.

HTH.

We are standing up a new 8.6 cluster for our call center. We currently run
Agent software version 7.0 with a CAD Client Service release. As part of the
upgrade process I need to remove Agent and upgrade to the version suitable
for 8.6 on all agent computers.

I would like to make a job using our software management server to do this
remotely. I believe I can uninstall Cisco Agent and Supervisor remotely, but
I haven't seen/figured out how to uninstall the CAD Clients Release
remotely/silently. Is there a way to do this without using Add/Remove
Programs on each machine?

Thanks.
