Hi Mathew,
Thanks for your response.
The bridged upgrade procedure....
Is that the same procedure as a typical upgrade ie cli - utils system upgrade init - etc
and is the same file used which is used to install 8.6 on UCS etc?
---UCSInstall_UCOS_8.6.2.20000_2.iso----
Thanks
Scott

Would recommend you follow the listed process for upgrading CUCM and moving to a virtualized environment
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/virtual/servers.html#wp42985
In cases where you're building out a new cluster, I'd consider the following:
-take DRS backup of 6x cluster
-install 6x from DRS backup on temporary server (non virtualized)
-upgrade temporary server to target version
-take DRS backup
-install target version w/ DRS backup on virtualized server
-build out remainder of virtualized cluster

Hi,
I am currently attempting a CUCM upgrade from 6.1 to 8.6.
I am doing this in a bridge fashion side by side with my current active environment.
I am wondering if anyone has had experience with this type of upgrade?
My initial plan was to build a call manager in VMware running 6.1.5(SU3) and do a restore of my active data set.
This worked successfully.
I am now in the process of trying to upgrade the VMware box to version 8.6 so I can extract the data set in this version.
When conducting the upgrade I get the following error in the install log
-------This hadware is no longer supported for "callamanger" deployment------
I did however manage to upgrade to 7.1.2 as I thought by stepping the upgrade I may have more success but this did not work.
Has anyone had success upgrading in this fashion?
It may I am missing a requirement in the bridge process?
Any assistance will be appreciated.
Thanks
Scott
