[cisco-voip] Unity 8.5.1

you should also be able to dial unity directly, dial the call handler number + #2 and it should play the greeting. if you don't hear the greeting, you need to fix that part first.

*i could be wrong, but DN + #2 works for voice mail boxes, it should work for call handlers as well.

So your entire call flow is working as desired, except it doesn't play the greeting you want to hear before attempting the transfer? The greeting you show here is clearly configured to play a recording, so either you're not making it to this greeting (perhaps you have the alternate or closed greetings enabled, they will take precedent over the standard) or you don't have a recording on that greeting (on the same edit greeting page for the standard greeting, can you expand the play/record button and play back your greeting? if you have multiple locales installed, is there a recording for the language the call is being routed as?).

If none of that resolves your problem, I suspect your call isn't actually being routed as you think it is. Try installing the port status monitor and capturing a call to see where the call is going and send us your output:

Hi Roza, hi all,

enclosed you can find the screenshots from the configured call handler. The call handler contains a translation rule and the greeting. With this configuration the call is going to the call handler, after that to the translation rule, but it never reached the greetings message.

many thanks in advance at all

Cristina,

Can you share some screenshots showing how you configured the call handler?

Many thanks for all your answers.

Ive checked it again and record s empty message under call handler/ recorded name. There is no setting under call handler to play the system default.

I recorded again another message under greetings but the system never comes to my personal spoken message but it goes to tha call handler after that to the translation rule and finish.

I cannot switch of the first message from call handler.

The CUCM config you describe is fine for getting the call to a call handler in UCxn.

If the greeting you hear is "Sorry <your recorded greeting> is not available", that means that you have recorded your greeting as the recorded name for the call handler / user instead of the greeting and left the greeting option at the default value of "system default". To avoid that, you need to record your greeting on the call handler greeting page and select 'my recording' as the playback option.

My construct is as following:

DN with voice mail profile --> on DN forward all to voice mail --> on unity call handler, transfer rule back to cucm to line group.

This construct is working but the message sorry "my recorded message" is not available disturbs me.

Is my config ok?

I am meaning a Hunt Pilot in call routing, rather than the voice mail pilot number:

In CUCM 7.1 (version i'm running):

Call Routing -> Route/Hunt -> Hunt Pilot

Hi Ed,

Thanks for answering. Ive also created a pilot number but my pilot number is assigned to forward all on the line to reach the unity. Do you mean it that way?

Could you explain me the steps I need to do? Thanks.

The way I do this is setup a pilot number in CUCM and point to your unity connection line group, and then setup direct routing rule in unity connection to send the call to the call handler greeting that you want it to go to.

Hi all,

If i want to use call handlers in unity how is the connection between cucm and unity?
The goal should be to dial a number from external to reach the cucm after that the unity to get a welcome message and after that to go back to cucm to a pilot point.

I've created a directory number with voice mail pilot and voice mail profile, on unity I've created a system call handler with a transfer rule back to cucm and recorded a greeting. It's works but the problem is after I dial the number I get an "sorry.. Is not available" message after that phones in hunt lists ringing. I just want to hear my message nothing else.

What's wrong on my configuration? Many thanks in advance.
