[cisco-voip] 9971 making phantom / ghost calls - 9.3.x firmwares

I've seen a few customers experiencing phantom/stuck calls on 9971's but it wasn't being sourced by the phone. It was always a call arriving at the 9971, getting stuck, and appearing as an active call until a reboot. But I have seen issues where 7975s running 9.3(1) generate a call at random, which, if I'm following correctly, sounds more like the issue you're describing:
https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCub74743
Check that one out. We had a customer where a handful of their 7975 phones would automatically place an on-net phone call with no user interaction needed. We ended up downgrading the impacted phones because the debugs required were nearly impossible to gather without impacting phone performance.
Hope this helps

Subject: [cisco-voip] 9971 making phantom / ghost calls - 9.3.x firmwares
Is anyone familiar with this issue and knows how to stop the phantom calls without unplugging the phone?
We had this issue on earlier 9.3 firmware versions and were provided 9.3.2 ES12 which seemed to fix the phantom call issue (or speed dials being used with no one at the phone) but a few phones still had been doing the ghost calls on occassion,
We upgraded to 9.3.4-24 firmware a month or so back (before 9.4.1-9 was out) and that did not fix this issue with the phantom calls.
The Call Manager CDRs show the 9971 phone is making the calls (MAC Address, IP address are the phone).
Upgraded to 9.4.1-9 firmware and haven't seen the issue yet (to early to say) but 9.4.1-9 has very annoying dialing delay/prolonged beep issue that annoys the user that they can barely make calls on the phones without problem Seems to be CSCtb02271 from working with TAC on this.
CUCM version 9.1.1.20000-5 (9.1.1a)
Thanks, Erick
