[cisco-voip] Caller ID issue

You'll need to CFG the gateway as h.323 (at least for that FXO port). CLID doesn't work on FXO ports controlled by mgcpapp . You can run a "debug vpm port x/x/x" and that should show the calling name received on the FXO port, but if the port is under mgcpapp control, it won't pass the IE to CCM.
Thanks,

What CUCM/IOS version? Do you have "Enable Caller ID" checked on the MGCP FXO device? You should have "caller-id enable" under the voice-port on the router.

Sorry, just noticed in that example they reference ISDN. Again, calls coming in on ISDN are fine, we get name and number.
It's when calls come in on the POTS lines that we just get the phone number.

I did find this by googling:
interface serialx/x/x:23
isdn supp-service name calling
I am not sure about the :23 after the serial port designation...

Does the carrier send the caller name in the ISDN Setup message or in a separate Facility message? Can you show "debug isdn q931" for one of these inbound calls?

Cisco UCM 8.0 with 2801 in MGCP mode.
Telco is sending Name and Number to us.
Phones only ever display Number.
In UCM, selected phones have both Caller Name and Caller Number ticked.
Anything else could be preventing us from getting Names?
